Lobelia

Lobelia provides notable benefits for respiratory health. Its alkaloids contribute to the relaxation of airways, supporting conditions such as asthma and bronchitis. This, combined with other herbs in the formula, creates a synergistic effect that enhances overall respiratory well-being.

Ingredients

Lobelia (Lobelia infalata)

Directions

TOPICAL USE: You may use in form of poultices or infused oils for external applications. However, it's essential to dilute it appropriately and perform a patch test to check for any skin sensitivity.

TEA: Add 1/4 teaspoon in 2 cups of boiled filtered water. Steep for 7 minutes then strain.

Due to it's high potency, always start with a lower dosage/amount and gradually increase if needed while monitoring for any effects.

For best results, incorporate herbal tea blends into your daily wellness routine. This allows these herbs to offer their full benefits.

Benefits
  • Respiratory Support: Lobelia has been used to help ease respiratory issues, such as asthma, bronchitis, and coughs. It was historically used to promote bronchial dilation and facilitate easier breathing.
  • Muscle Relaxation: Lobelia has been used as a muscle relaxant, applied topically or used in liniments to help alleviate muscle tension, cramps, and spasms.
  • Nervous System Support: In traditional herbalism, lobelia was considered a nervine, meaning it was used to calm and soothe the nervous system. It was sometimes used to address conditions like anxiety, nervousness, and stress.
  • Expectorant: Lobelia was believed to help promote the expulsion of mucus and phlegm from the respiratory tract, which could aid in relieving congestion.
  • Emetic: Historically, lobelia was used as an emetic, meaning it was used to induce vomiting in cases of poisoning or to clear the stomach.
  • Anti-inflammatory: Lobelia was used for its potential anti-inflammatory properties, which could be beneficial for conditions involving inflammation.
  • Cardiovascular Health: Some traditional uses of lobelia included its potential to support cardiovascular health

Herb Forms

Our herbs may come in either Loose Herb Form (cut and sifted, whole, chunks, granules or resin) or Powdered Form. We cannot guarantee the specific form you will receive. This variability exists because of the demand.

Importantly, the form in which you receive the herbs, whether powdered or loose, does not affect their potency. Both forms maintain their efficacy and herbal properties.

Our herbs are wildcrafted and non-GMO sourced out worldwide. Many are imported from small farmers who take much pride in their products. To be sold, especially in Canada, they must pass testing on their side. We take great pride in the power and potency of our herbs. Our Master Herbalist Mourab "Raw" Maraby oversees production of all his products and formulas.

Tinctures or Teas?

Tinctures are best for strong medicinal activity, convenience, and long-term storage. An herbal tincture will have about 90% plant essence in it.

Herbal Teas are not as potent as tinctures, but they can be very effective for calming the nervous system, soothing the stomach, and brightening the mood. A herbal tea will have approximately 10% plant essence in it.

It’s best to combine them both.
