Bee Propolis has been traditionally valued for its numerous health benefits. In traditional medicine, propolis is used for its antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. It's believed to support the immune system, aid in wound healing, and provide relief for various ailments.
Propolis is a resin-like substance collected by bees from tree buds and other plant sources. It's used by bees to seal and protect their hives from external threats, such as bacteria and fungi. Humans have also used propolis for its potential health-promoting effects.
Some traditional uses and benefits of Bee Propolis include:
- Immune Support: Propolis is thought to have immune-strengthening properties, which can help the body fight off infections and illnesses.
- Wound Healing: Its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties make it valuable for promoting wound healing and reducing the risk of infections.
- Oral Health: Propolis has been used in oral care products like mouthwashes and toothpaste due to its potential to fight bacteria and promote gum health.
- Skin Health: It's used in topical ointments for skin conditions like acne and eczema, attributed to its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory qualities.
- Antioxidant Protection: Propolis contains antioxidants that can help neutralize harmful free radicals in the body.
- Respiratory Health: Some traditional practices involve using propolis to support respiratory health, potentially alleviating symptoms of coughs and colds.

How to Use
To use raw chunks of bee propolis, follow these steps:
1. Cleaning: Start by cleaning the raw propolis chunks. Remove any debris or foreign matter by gently brushing or scraping the surface.
2. Softening: Raw propolis can be quite hard, so you'll want to soften it for easier use. One common method is to place the propolis chunks in the freezer for a short time (15-30 minutes). This makes the propolis more brittle and easier to work with.
3. Chewing: Once the propolis is slightly softened, you can chew on small pieces of it. Chewing will help release the beneficial compounds. However, the taste might be bitter and strong, so you might prefer to swallow it quickly.
4. Infusions: You can also infuse raw propolis into honey or oil. Chop or grind the propolis and mix it with honey or carrier oil (like olive oil). Allow the mixture to sit for a few weeks, occasionally stirring or shaking. Strain the infused honey or oil before use.
* Remember that the taste of raw propolis can be intense and bitter, and not everyone may find it palatable.
