A 2005 study in the Journal of Dermatological Science, Rho et al. showed that of the 45 herbs tested, Asia sari radix was shown to have the best hair growth potential. Asia sari radix is known to work through a protein called VEGF, which in a landmark study done by Harvard medical school, was also shown to increase the thickness of the fur of mice by 70%.
